Nihon Minka-en

Visited the Nihon Minka-en, the Japanese Folk House Museum, yesterday. Twenty-three old houses (some from the 17th century) have been dismantled and relocated to a large park in Kanagawa. The city of Kawasaki began collecting the houses in 1965.
Japanese carpentry is unsurpassed and they certainly knew how to put a house together. The museum has some breathtakingly beautiful things to see. Unfortunately they don’t have a web site I can link to. I’ll try to post more photographs later (I shot 135 frames during the time we were there!).

Yesterday my wife and I went to see the exibition…very impressive. unfortunately we only had a very short time, so we had to rush through..I managed to take tons of photos. I`m now looking to for a book that will provide the details of what we saw. Does anyone know any good book with lots of pics?
