The weather couldn’t have been better today. We set out too late to get to the top of Myoujingatake so had to settle for a quick four-hour up-and-back to a saddle about two-thirds of the way up. Fuji got there first and was waiting for us. About 15 minutes after we arrived clouds came up over it and never let it go. But 15 minutes was about all I could take. Such a goddamned picturesque mountain.

We ate onigiri and Snickers bars and I made a pot of coffee which you wouldn’t believe how good it was.
