Span Art Gallery in Yurakucho is holding a Jim Woodring exhibition from Dec. 12. They don’t have a site to point to but their phone number is 03-5524-3060. The exhibition will also appear in Kyoto from 2002.1.7 for a few weeks at the TrancePop Gallery (075-723-1780).
PressPop Gallery (in Japanese) is organising.
Adrian Tomine has a new book out: Sleepwalk & Other Stories. His earlier book, 32 Stories: The Complete Optic Nerve (out of stock at Powell’s and I’m not linking to Amazon) showed the evolution of his style from a ‘sketchier’ less firm line to a beautiful solidity and wonderful use of lots of good, black ink. Looking forward to seeing Sleepwalk.

Woodring at TrancePop in Kyoto… There’s a show I won’t miss. Oh… BTW… looks like your daughter and my son share the same birthday.
