New Scanner!
Got a new scanner last week, an Epson GT9700F (which I believe is the Perfection 2450 Photo in the US). The old HP ScanJet IIcx finally gave up the ghost after years of excellent service.
The GT9700F can scan film (that would be the “F” in the name), which is what tipped the scales for me. Above is an old Kodachrome slide from some years back (with just a little work done on it - you think I’m going to show you raw scans…?). There’s no OS X driver for it yet, but the excellent VueScan from Hamrick Software will probably be my scanning app of choice anyway (and it lets the scanner use the Firewire connection instead of the USB for noticeably faster operation).
