Leaf Week at Antipixel

blueberry leaf

OK, let’s make it Leaf Week at Antipixel. That ginko seemed to strike some chords and I’m nothing if not eager to please. Today it’s a blueberry leaf from the garden.

We bought the blueberry bush on a whim to replace a strange tree that grew out of nowhere (we never figured out what it was - it just moved in one day and proceeded to grow and dominate our tiny garden) and which was killed by fire when the house next door burned down (a long, horrible story which I’ll spare you). It was early summer when we bought the blueberry, it had irresistible clusters of young fruit on it, and I got it home on the back of Etsuko’s bicycle.

A blueberry bush can give you an excellent lesson in the joys of anticipation.

I wanted to try to make blueberry pancakes but we could never stop ourselves from eating the blueberries as fast as we picked them off the bush. The last ones were so sweet.
