Tim Porter Exhibition

Tim Porter is the Tokyo Bureau Chief of Camera Press, organiser of the Tokyo Photo Workshops, a wonderful photographer and an amazing craftsman. He’s having a special one-day exhibition to preview his latest book on Edo Gardens this Sunday, Dec 9, at International House in Roppongi.

I have come to realize we 21st. Century people are far too impatient to appreciate the subtleties and the slowness of these gracious old gardens. I have had to rediscover the lost art of strolling….

I had the immense pleasure of working with Tim on a project a couple of years back for which we won the Best of the Web award at last year’s Tokyo Ad Show. Talk about grace under pressure — Tim’s got it in spades. (I think we’ve both recovered from that project by now.)

You can see more of Tim’s work, as well as other excellent photographers, at tokyo-squint.com.
