Netscape 6.2.1 for OS X
versiontracker.com

Having some problems. It doesn’t seem to want to retain font settings and there’s imported bookmark weirdness (items jumping around and changing order in the toolbar).

I’ll persist… for old time’s sake.

I’ve been trying to persist as well, as a long-time Netscape advocate, but with my last OS upgrade it just ain’t working. Can’t get rid of the “sidebar” on the left of window. Notice as well the “whatever font and size I the browser decide to use” problem as well. More importantly got tired of constant crashes.

So with great sadness I have switched my defaults to IE, which has it’s own laundry list of faults (like not working well with Eudora to open links from email) but at least it keeps running. Sigh.

I used to keep it around only for pages so badly coded they were invisible in Netscape.

It’s kind of sad, isn’t it. I feel like I grew up on Netscape! I’ve still got 0.91 lying around here somewhere. As for IE, I have to admit that I love it. I’ve never experienced any of the slowness or crashes that some people report, and its support for CSS is pretty darn good. Cutting off the competition’s air supply never produced such good results. :-/
