Big Sight Not Pretty Sight
I went out to MacWorld Tokyo yesterday (more on that soon) which was held at the Tokyo Big Sight exhibition center at Odaiba rather than the traditional Makuhari Messe.
Odaiba is a relatively new part of town reclaimed from Tokyo bay and built almost entirely of thwarted dreams and half-baked, second-hand architectural notions. It is a place utterly without a soul, totally artificial and making no pretense to comfort. It smells awfully like the future.
See that, um… sculpture - the big red saw hacking into the ground? That’s all you need to know about Odaiba. A big red sore hacking into the ground.
