I just saw Yo-Yo Ma on TV doing an ad for Suntory whisky. His star may be falling, or maybe the whole Silk Road project took its toll, financially. An appearance in a Japanese ad usually betokens a certain desperation for the foreign “tarento” involved.
Sean Connery once did an ad for Suntory whisky on condition that he not be shown actually drinking the stuff (and who can blame him?). Apparently their money was perfectly good enough but the whisky just didn’t measure up to what Sean’s used to. Yo-Yo Ma doesn’t drink it either, but he does hold a glass of it up to his forehead thoughtfully, as if he has a headache that the ice in the glass will relieve.

Leunig is probably THE best comic artist going around. His commentary is not brainless and always reflects current issues. More Leunig please :)
