Do you ever make up improbable GUI elements when you’re bored? Come on, tell the truth.

Usually here in central Texas, July brings day after day of drought and 100 degree (F) temperatures—and it’s not a dry heat either (though not quite as humid as Japan). If you look at a weather map, it looks like demon’s got us pinned under its ugly red thumb.

Not this year! We’ve received 17 to 30 inches of rain (half our year’s total) in two weeks. And it just keeps coming. The usual floods and deaths. But temperatures only in the 80s! Feels just like Beppu-shi. The garden, which is usually dry and dusty this time of year, is green and rampant.

LOL! I think my choices would have been - ICK! PTUI! // Maybe // You’re the best!

You dog! I tried to click on one of the buttons. lol!

I’ve always wanted to do a “Go Away” button for those annoying messagebox alerts.

Tomas — I think it’s the heat. Terribly uncomfortable here now and it’s making me do stupid things.

Mary Beth — Ptui! is one of my favourite words! How did you know? I think I first read it in a Don Martin cartoon in Mad magazine when I was a kid. It would make a great button.

Enrique — A friend once sent me a picture of a keyboard that someone had Photoshopped so that it had a “Fuck It” key. Brilliant. I want one (and sometimes I need one). I’ll try to dig it up and post it if I can.

I love the ‘Ick! Ptui!’ option… Someone tell Apple!

The “FUCK IT” button was not photoshopped in the picture. This is a real button for sale in catalogs.
