Clouds Over Shinjuku

Summer’s not giving up without a fight and it’s brought in the big cumulus as muscle. They were just boiling up all over the place today. Here’s a view from the top of an apartment building near my house looking west to Shinjuku. Nothing like 40,000 feet of cloud to put things in perspective. We don’t get the spectacular New Mexican extravaganzas like some lucky bloggers, but we manage to make do.
To the south there was another huge formation bubbling up against pure blue sky. Click below for a shot.

Damn, that’s cool. I keep waiting for a hurricane to brush up close (I live in Florida, so it’s reasonably common) to get some pictures of the awesome wall of clouds that precede them. It’s been a slow year, though.
