Oni-gawara: Half-way There

I just walked down to the old house and spoke to the demolition workers about taking the oni-gawara off the house. They couldn’t have been nicer.

“You want them? Sure! Come back tomorrow and I’ll bring them down for you. See anything else you want?”

“Only everything,” I said.

They wouldn’t let me get up on the roof myself (dangerous!). We’re half-way there, though, and hopefully tomorrow at least some small pieces of that house will live on.
