Swimming’s touchy issue
Sydney Morning HeraldFor Australian swimming coaches, a massage and a slap on the bum for their athletes was part of the game. No longer, writes Michael Cowley.
Australian swimming was one of the pioneers of massage therapy. The problem was that when it started in the 1980s, the coaches were doing most of the massaging, and boundaries may have been crossed.
Speaking of massages, I wish someone would give me one right now. I swam 3km last night, most of it racing against other swimmers, and now I’m just wasted.
