Stepping outside just now to walk down to the corner store, I looked up to see the stars – it’s a cool clear night and there are plenty out – and high up in the sky, their bellies lit by the billion lights of Tokyo, I saw a big V of geese heading due south. The migrations begin.

I love it when I’m lying in bed very late at night and you hear a flock go over. They fly SO very high and fly at night and you hear their soft honk honk honk as they murmer among each other.
Times like that I want to fly, at night and very high.
