IE(PC): A Quick Note
Comments: 3
Dear Internet Explorer (PC) Users –
I love you, but I hate your crummy, bug-infested, godforsaken browser which is forcing me to read about box model hacks consider and faulty arithmetic in order that you can see the second column of this site properly (on the right-hand side instead of dribbling down the bottom of the page beneath this one). I hate it, I hate it, I hate it!
Love, kisses, and I hope you’re well.

Update: What should appear on MacCentral this evening but a link to an Apple Tech document on CSS bugs in IE.

“PS: learn CSS position:fixed and PNG transparencies already. What, you think it’s still 1998?”

what’s the problem? in strict mode, ie6 should render the box model in standards mode.

I’m now in a position to access the site via IE6 (courtesy of VirtualPC — slow, but it works). Here’s where things get funky.
The online version breaks. The local version (also being served by Apache off a virtual host that clever person helped me to set up does not break. The two versions use identical code and CSS.
<Sigh> Where am I supposed to start looking now?
I have a feeling I’ll be eating my words about IE(PC) bugs (although it is buggy, I’m not sure if I’m triggering anything). No idea why one’s breaking and the other’s not, though.
