A Small Milestone

Something happened today which I’ve been hoping for since Antipixel began: the number of comments now exceeds the number of posts. Since I’m more interested in your comments than I am in my rants, this is a good thing!

Most of the comments are mine, of course, but who’s counting…?

Well, suppose I’ll do my little part then ;-) Been lurking here for a while but never commented.

Congrats! We should all be so lucky… (I say as I look at my logs) :)

Posted by jeremy   2002.11.06, 04:56

well yeah, but it’s not really a fair comparison, because your site is cool and you write interesting posts and it’s really nicely designed, and… oh, I guess that explains it. congrats!

Who’s afraid of the big bad ‘POST’? I achieved this a while ago, and quitely rejoiced. Congrats!

p.s. love the image up the top right.

Oops, top left - dyslexia has hit again.

The new image doesn’t lend itself as well to repeating as the old one did. When the image repeats on the right, it’s cut off.

That being said, I’m happy I found my way to this site as well.

You could use css positioning for that image, have it set to no repeat. I’m not sure of the page structure but I can’t imagine it being hard.

oh yeah, and congrats!!!

The Lucida font rocks. It looks great.

Oh yeah, all chime in with comments now why don’t you! ;-)

As for that image in the header, some of you are surfing around with some mighty wide browser windows (full-screen mode, I guess). Ought to be taken care of.

Eric — Lucida Sans Unicode found its way into the style sheet for PC users. I think it’s better than Verdana — at least I hope it is. On the OS X, though, Lucida Grande is just superb. It’s too hard to get away from anti-aliasing these days, so I bit the bullet and tried to find something that responds well to being fuzzed. Lucida was born to be fuzzed.

Oh my gawd, I just checked and my post to comment ration (let’s call it PCR to be scientific) is 61/85! I’m surprised as I’d never put my blog in the high-traffic category.

BTW, I strongly feel that Scott’s three comments above should only count as one if we’re keeping stats!

Love the new font.

Jeremy,

Your “problem” is that you’re way too prolific. You need to do what the rest of us do: post to the blog every couple of days, rather than daily. That way the times between posts act like some kind of uncomfortable silence, and visitors feel obligated to leave comments.

Just kidding, of course. How many milestones does that make for you in the last week, then?

Now if only we can get the ANITPIXEL logo linked back to the home page. ; )

Posted by red   2002.11.07, 11:35

i like Lucida Console.

Posted by jh   2002.11.07, 13:32

vis10n — I know, I know! It’s on the list, it’s going to happen.

Glad to see Lucida getting a warm reception, by the way. Not that I think anyone needs a respite from Verdana (it’s a superb font) but ubiquity can breed contempt.

Det kommer vel an på kommentarens indhold - eller !

And in english: It all depends on the contents of the comment - or !

The comments shall flow!
