Just shoot me now. The Sydney Morning Herald is reporting that Sylvester Stallone has been hired to do “Rocky VI.” Now all we need is a digitally recreated Burgess Meredith to appear in a vision-from-beyond-the-grave scene.
Details were sketchy because Stallone, who wrote and directed 1976’s original Rocky, has just been hired, but the idea is to avoid the big-budget style of Hollywood sequels and return to the small, independent film feel of the original.
Early plans have Stallone, 56, portraying the fighter Rocky Balboa, again. But this time, he is running a youth centre when he is lured out of retirement for one last fight.

It seems to be a theme, as Mel Gibson has signed on to do another Mad Max/Road Warrior. for 25. million. dollars. I’m just hoping someone can get Marlon Brando back for a sequel to The Wild One.

I fervently hope there’s a scene in the new movie involving the Philadelphia Art Museum steps, because it just never gets old to see a bunch of moronic tourists start to the do the step run only to fall over wheezing halfway up. It’s comedy gold, I tell ya!

I don’t know why people are making fun of the 6th movie in the Rocky series. Personally i am really looking forward to it. To me and most others in this world Rocky represents the unlimited potential of mankind. I don’t care how many “comeback fights” or “last fights” he has, he is and always will be the champ. I think that MGM should release all of the Rocky movies again and expose a whole new generation to the greatest hero of all time just as I was exposed when I was younger. Rocky was a great inspiration to me and I wish everyone involved in the production of Rocky VI the best of luck especially Sly

Rocky is great (Oscar), Rocky II was more entertaining (read: bigger budget), Rocky III was funnest (Hulk Hogan and Mr. T), Rocky IV was the most intense (“Death from Above” and Cold-War themes), and Rocky V was… a little too NutraSweet (read: artificial). The worst Rocky made, but not the worst movie made. It was neat seeing Tommy Gunn really mimmick Balboa’s “ow, my head” strategy. I knew Rocky VI was on the way when I first heard the rumors, because the DVD box set was on it’s way and so was the Rocky video game.
And the first Rocky was directed by John G. Avildsen.

All of the rocky film hada touch of class, but certainly Rocky V wasn’t a bad film! just Tommy Gun got on my nerves! but wit another Rocky flm in the pipeline its gettin the feel of another ‘DEATH WISH’ film which for sum reason became even more crap longer it went on! mind u but the 1st wasn’t that gud either! but dont make another Rocky u’ll be tamperin wit a legand

seems to be a lot of sequels comin out ive been lookin around the web and apparently there are going to be sequels of, rocky, mad max, alien, jurassic park, rambo, starship troopers, indiana jones and terminator they are also going to bring back the old favourites like the italian job, knight rider and starsky & hutch. they must be runnin out of ideas for new films so have to trail famous names through the mud to make a few milion ££

What a shame! I wrote the most incredible story called Rocky VI THE FINAL ROUND which ties in all of the ROCKY movies and is filled with action from beginning to end. I have lawyers and a literary agent dying to represent me but M.G.M. has done nothing but play games with me and Sylvester Stallone’s agency just keeps sending it back to me calling it “unsolicited” and a lawyer at the agency went so far as telling me that I pretty much would have to be sleeping with someone at the agency to get it to Stallone! Heck, I even agreed to that but never heard back. I guess all the beds were taken at the moment! Hollywood really is a tough town but it’s a shame that people like myself never get a chance at the brass ring. My story would have put Stallone back on top again and the premise for Rocky VI is a dud! The movie would be a bore just like Rocky V was and it’s clear that Sylvester Stallone has simply run out of ideas for a new movie. I guess he forgets where he came from as he should easily be able to relate to someone like me as he knows what it was like when he tried to get someone to read the original ROCKY and no one wanted him or the story. I have tried for 4 years to get this story to him and I have run out of options. I have been one of the biggest ROCKY fans and wrote my story straight from the heart, but I have to now say that Sylvester Stallone is no longer my hero. And as far as Hollywood goes, it’s no wonder you turn out so many movies that are bombs because you never give people like me a chance! Remember My Big Fat Greek Wedding? A smash at the box office and written by an “unknown” and it took Tom Hanks to see the merit the movie had and right now Hanks and the writer are laughing all the way to the bank and Hollywood is once again left with a finger up their butt for being the fools most of them are!

i dont understand why most people is dissin and makin fun of the new Rocky film, its not a cetainty it will even be made yet. I hope MGM increase their budget of $10 mill to $20 mill which is what Sly wants for the movie, as i think with the right resources and money, Sly can make this one, one of the best in the legacy of Rocky. I am fairly young, but i am a great Rocky fan and have all the movies and as i havnt had a chance to see the other 5 in the cinemas, this will be a great chance for me ( if it is released) to see it as a fan, in the cinema. I am a 22yr old Boxer out of Philadelphia. I am trying to make it in this buisness and right now I am fighting in clubs just to make a few bucks to pay for my apartment, no bedroom apartment. But I’m not complaining, life is life and you have to work with what you get you know. I just need a chance to get in a real fight. Just like Rocky did. Anyways I just wanted to say that I am the biggest fan of the rocky series even though i can’t afford the series you know, I would like to see one more rocky made because it’s just about the only place i get my confidense, i just listen to the song ROCKY THEME SONG if i ever get down you know, it just gives me confidence to go out there and try one more time you know, just remember rock, EYE OF THE TIGER!!! Sly Stallone should “go out” like Captain Kirk did in “Star Trek: Generations”. I LOVE the “Rocky” series. I still cry whenever Rocky overcomes adversity. My only concern is Rocky would probably be around the mid-50’s (like Stallone) and I wonder if fighting would be realistic. But. whatdahell, it is a movie. Maybe his son Rocky, Jr. should get revenge against Tommy “The Machine” Gunn in the ring for taking his room and his father away in Rocky 5. Oh, by the way, I would like to be in the movie, as a SEPTA bus driver trying to convince Rocky not to do the fighting himself.

Look, I fucked up in the past. After severed my ties with Rocky , and beat Cane for the title, I became a drunk. Duke corrupted me. I hung out with the wrong crowd. They turned me to a life of drugs and alcohol. Duke kept setting me up against bums so I would still look like I was on top. I noticed this, and made the worst possible request of my career: I asked Duke to schedule a fight between me and Drago. I was high and strung out, I didn’t know what the hell I was doing. The fans had heard what went down between me & Rocky, so they turned on me. After his fight with Rocky, Drago had defected from the Soviet Union because of a disagreement with a member of the Politburo, you know, the guy who spoke for him at press conferences. He was now training in Las Vegas, and publicly apologized to the media for killing Apollo. He actually cried. Big fuckin’ baby. Yeah, a big fuckin’ baby who was 34-1. After that he became a media darling, while I was hung to dry. Shit, we still had a month left until the fight. I trained, not even half-assed, more like quarter-assed, and it showed. When I stepped into the ring at the Mandalay Bay, I knew I was gonna lose. I got knocked out in the first round. I broke my jaw, right hand, and lost three teeth. People cheered for Drago when they gave him the belt, and they threw shit at me as I left. My life is a shambles. I’m all alone. The entourage, the women, and the “friends” are gone. There is only one man who can help me now: Rocky Balboa.

It’s true, alot of sequals to older movies are being considered because Hollywood seems to be running out of ideas, and it’s great. I’d much rather see a sequal with Stallone than some studid re-make in ten years. The Rocky series was awesome. The DVD Collector’s Edition has an awesome tribute to Burgess Meredith and to the cameraman who took a small budget and made awesome movies. I was five years old when the first movie came out and didn’t see the first two until after I’d seen III. I was hooked from then on. Just remember, “Women weaken legs” and “Mickey loves ya”.

It would be a shame if Rocky died. The whole point of the Rocky series has been him overcoming adversity. If he were to die, than it would destroy that whole premise.
Plus, there would be no Rocky VII.

And whats he talking about, beyond the grave scene??? that won’t a ghost in Rocky 5 it was all in Rocky’s head he was thinking about what Mickey would say if he was there, if you had bothered to take any interest at all in the film you would of known that because of the flashback scene when Mickey says summat like, whenver you go down this little angel on your shoulder is gonna say, “get up you son-of-a-bitch! cos mickey loves ya” and rockey did go down and he did Mickey say that in his mind which caused himj to get up and win the fight.

Rocky I-V are simply the greatest movies hollywood has ever had the pleasure of showing. If you would sit your fat asses down and watch the movies you would realize that these movies can change you life. If you’ve ever been the underdog, if anyone has ever told you that you can’t do it or it can’t be done then these movie are for you. We can all relate and learn something from Balboa. We love going to the movies and watching our DVDs with DTS, but Rocky will always be my favourite because it moves me like no other. I just love that thing and have seen it at least 100 times. Though it lacks the modern technology of modern movies, because it’s so old and was made on a shoe-string budget, it’s just a really great story. I really hope that a new Rocky movie will capture some of the beautiful qualities and rawness of the original, rather than be another flashy superhero story as in later sequels. Perhaps the limited budget will encourage this.

I can’t wait for Rocky VI!!! I grew up with the movies. I remember watching Rocky III on HBO when I was 3 or four years old. My family and I went to see Rocky IV when it came out. Rocky inspires me. I like the idea of this new competitor; If they don’t slant him to be a mega-villain (like Drago), then this would be a good movie (although if they did, it still would be good).

Rocky IV - Ive seen the first 5, and damn the first 4 were awesome. Number 3 was really great though rocky and apollo combinding together. Number 5 sucked but was realistic him having brain damage and in bad condition. Him losing his money was stupid, and i reakon the kid shoulda been into boxin so that gives number 6 a good story line. I love the rocky films Rocky 4 is my favourite when he fights the russian i would like 2 c a come back fight between the 2 but i know he is retiring but i want him 2 try hard on this last film make it as good as Rocky 4 and Rocky 2. Then i will be happy…………………… LOL

Infact, I heard stallone wants to kill off rocky but I guess the film company does want him to do that. So for sure I’m certain rocky dies in the new one.

Although it would be sort of odd to have Drago come back for one more time, I think if they became friends in the next film that would totally kill the whole series, i mean, look at how hard they trained in the last rocky IV…they hated each other with a passion you know..their “hearts on fire”. …and remember when Rocky lifted duke, paulie, and adrian in that wagon and said ..”DRAGO!!!!”…that was like one of the biggest highlights of the film..he was pissed with a passion. I think stallone should bring back duke though, to help him train..if he’s gonna fight in the ring..cuz dukes cool, right everyone? Maybe perhaps there can be a plot where ROCKY…..has DISEASE. like CANCER or AIDS…aids is real big now…….and he fights to RAISE MONEY……so he can SURVIVE…HUH HUH???? SO then he has one more last fight…people he wants one more last fight..just for old times sake so his name can be remembered for future generations and not sitting in the background like the rest of society. Well, that seems to be like a dramatic storyline. I don’t know you can either use all of it or use just the disease thing. But to me, I hope the next movie should be something of a turn around into a whole new direction instead of sitting back mainly on the fortune of bringing back most of the characters of the past films.

I just wanted to say that Rocky6 is going to be excellent. I hope that they start off from 5 and when Rocky was standing on the steps of the fine art museum thats when the challenge will start. That’s where his challenger will ask him to fight. Since Tommy Gunn got arrested at the end of 5 they should strip his title and give it to Rocky. And Rocky will be cosidered the heavyweight champ which then his challenger wants a shot at the title. I don’t think it would be a good idea for dolph to return,Rocky already whooped russia’s ass. Ithink he should fight a chinese guy like JetLI. But not Dolph.And as far as Rocky having brain damage i feel they should tell him they messed up at the doctors office and Rocky could sue them for malpractice.Whatever the movie is going to be ; i know it will be excellent. Rocky Balboa will always live as long as fans like us keep it going.. God Bless All!

my name is senator, i love the rocky series and i think it is a great idea and it would be a great movie. like in rocky III when hulk hogan fought in a charity match, i think that in rocky VI should make DMX fight in a charity match too with either rocky or rocky jr. but they should not kill rocky even though if he does win the title over drago. but my ideas of rocky VI is now as an old man he trains his real-life son sage stallone aka rocky jr. and he challenges a new opponent mickey goldmill son, and he wins mickeys son and in the last part of the movie when rocky jr. is celebrating his victory he has develop leukemia and rocky jr. needs medical care or else in 8 months he might departure and rocky is broke so he fights ivan drago for the title and and wins and gets a lot of money then gives it to medical care so his son is treated and their now ok and the ending will be rocky and his son walks to the gym and looks around in the first match with apollo creed and thinks its all over and he puts his red white and blue trunks on the ground and while its falling a 5 min flashback of the whole series is fading with the background and rocky and his son walks out of the gym and says to his son its time to ring the bell and rocky jr. rings bell and walks out of the arena and a new songs ends it

Some of you really need some grammar lessons. Don’t be afraid to stop rambling like a retard and put a few periods in there. While your at it… learn how to spell for christ sake!!!
For those of you posting script ideas, please stop. Those are some of the stupidest plots I’ve ever heard for Rocky VI. You all must be either on crack or a five year old child. Although, I must say that this one cracked me up:
rocky 6: story is rocky’s son gets a disease and rocky needs a cure for him and has to fight to get money,so he fights ivan drago and ends up geting killed and drago goes on to fuck adrian up the ass and ckills her too,and he pushes rockyjr off a cliff. WOO HOO
Whatever happens in Rocky VI, there needs to be a training sequence with Rocky and a final fight in the ring. Those are the two most important things in Rocky’s I - IV. That is where Rocky V failed. Although Rocky V was a good movie and had some of the best moments in the entire series, it was definitely the worst of the five. So, let’s just hope Rocky VI is a great film and can end the series with a bang.
