Night Fever

Sitting in a coffee shop the other day I heard (was subjected to, more accurately) a Muzak® version of “Night Fever,” the Bee Gees song. Melodically, this song is about as interesting as a truckload of sand so by the time you hand it over to a lobotomised string section*, there’s not going to be a whole lot left.

Sure enough, there wasn’t. Maybe the Muzak® Corporation got a cheap deal on the licensing.

* Yes, I know it’s all computers, but I prefer to think of Muzak® as being played by musicians who, for one reason or another, have been lobotomised Francis Farmer style and can’t get work elsewhere.
