Tokyo MT Users Gathering: What Gives?

I responded via the form posted on sixapart.com about tomorrow’s gathering in Tokyo for Movable Type users, but haven’t heard anything since.

Anyone out there know what’s going on? Just curious ;-)

I cannot make it myself as I’m in Tsukuba and working till 6. But here are the details I got sent from Joi Itoichi’s secretary:

January 17 Tokyo Movable Type Users Meet-up

Time: 18:30 - 21:00 Location: Plaza Mikado B1 Hall 2-14-5 Akasaka Minato-ku Tokyo map: http://blog.neoteny.com/neoteny/map.html * You can find “Yakiniku-ya Manpuku” on the corner near our office in the map, but they were closed. When you come to Mikado bldg, you can find the building under refit on that corner.

Attendees: Ben Trott, Mena Trott, Tokyo Bloggers (30 persons), Neoteny (5 persons)

Adriaan — I saw your name on mail that Neoteny sent out and was hoping you’d be there. Too bad. Some other time, I hope. Thanks for posting the info.

Hmm…if I leave my Shinyokohama office right now, I bet I could just make it.

[Glances over shoulder.]

Nevermind. I can see that there’s a load of work on the bucho’s desk that is about to migrate over to mine. Isn’t it funny how those tasks always arrive at the Last Possible Moment on Friday afternoons?

Anyway, have a great time! I’ll be there in spirit. ;-)

Jeremy, did you make it to the meeting? If so, I’m anxious to hear your observations.

I would have made a special trip down to Tokyo had I not had to work — wish it had been on a Saturday.

Aside from Ben and Mena’s brilliant work, they also get my vote for most endearingly attractive tech couple.
