Some architecture, in its eagerness to appear shiny and futuristic, just ends up looking like … I don’t know. Stainless steel kitchen appliances.

yes, but tell us the name of the building, of the architect, or at least where it is.

I think its extremely pretty, in a robot-esque kind of way

Don’t know the architect, but it’s the NTT building in Hatsudai. It’s across the street from Opera City (a tall, plain skyscraper with bevelled edges).

Here’s the uncropped photo the shot above was taken from (22K JPEG) and here’s the top of Opera City.

What do you think looks less-worse? Buildings that look like stainless steel kitchen appliances, or buildings that look like the underside of the kitchen sink (like the Centre Pompidou)?

NTT Shinjuku Headquarters, designed by Pelli, I believe.

okay

Brent Saville is the architect. He has done some other nice work.

More info on the NTT bulding is here

I think its kinda sexy, but Ive always been into glass and stainless steel.

Federation Square here in Melbourne is absolutely delicious! You can see it reflected in itself here

I only just realised I havent posted the other dozen shots I took of it, will do so tonight :)
