Final Flurry

Tenki.or.jp (in Japanese) is predicting snow tonight for the Kanto region. Bring it on! It would likely be our final flurry for the year. Seeing as how I probably won’t be making it to the mountains this winter, I’d appreciate the mountains coming to me.

I know how you feel, i waited 2 years for snow to come around my way, then last month i got snowed in, for a week.

First day i was happy, second third i was middling, then as we got towards the end of the week and it started to be the weekend i was missing, well i was less so.

It’s got something todo with being a kid i think, since it’s so rare to get snow in so many places, and everyone can remember how it always used to snow when we were kids. Have fun ;)

Snow? Hmmm. I don’t know. It’s 21:30 here in Nagano, and it’s raining. I was surprised how (relatively) warm it was outside when I left work just a short while ago.

Come to the mountains! I went snowboarding at a resort in Shiga Kogen last Sunday and it was spectacular. As ready as I am for spring, I’m not so anxious to give up on the snowboarding weekends just yet.

Hope the temperatures drop and you get a little of the white stuff in the big city.

Come to Washington, DC if you want snow. We’ve had a more than an ample season. Yesterday it was 20 C and today it’s about 4 C.

They’re predicting more “fallout” (of all sorts here) -grinning nervously

Not much snow in Tokyo, but you can always count on a couple of heavy dustings of cedar pollen. Those of you with allergies will know what I am talking about - a runny nose worse than any common cold.

Mike —- You were right: it never got cold enough for snow, only cold enough for an icy rain, dammit. Enjoy these last few weeks of snowboarding, you lucky so-and-so, you.

Gomichild —- Lovely day, ain’t it.

Jeff —- Was it snow or snowjobs they were predicting over your way? I hear Washington’s setting records for both these days. ;-)

Gem —- Don’t want to talk about hay fever, thank you! I was fine until 2 years ago when what seems to be an annual deterioration set in. Katsuo (bonito), shiso (the leaf of a Japanese member of the Labiatae family —- mint, &c. —- delicious with sashimi or cooked with the rice), ten-cha (a sweet Chinese tea), and yoghurt are all supposed to help, but it’s looking like industrial-strength anti-histamines for me. I feel like crap.

By the way, Kris, I don’t think you want pictures of what we got…
