Erik of NSLog(); has some good advice on starting a weblog.
It’s a fairly ‘common sense’ list of things to remember, but it’s often the common sense things people need reminding of. (OK, that I need reminding of.)

On the other side of this topic I’m developing a blog/ web site creation application similar to movabletype. I’m curious what features people are looking for in such an application.
The goals so far are easy Administration (for users and archieving), Template Based Creation, GUI drag n’ drop using the browser, easily customizable, and flexiblilty…. O and sharing of customizations with other users. Any thoughts suggestions?

Have you looked at WordPress? I’ve just started using it on my blog.
That nslog did have some good advice on starting a blog.
