Mount.app

I love software that solves annoying problems, and if an app can improve something and, say, bring a speed increase along with it, then that’s icing on the cake. Mount.app by Scott Houchin mounts disk images in OS X and does so considerably faster than Disk Copy. It also seems immune to those irritating -50 errors that Disk Copy kept giving me.
It’s ‘tradeware’ — “If you have created an application or utility that is selling for around US$10 (or less), I’d appreciate a free copy” — or (very generously) free if you don’t have anything to trade. I’ve set the OS to use it as the default means of mounting disk images. No more waiting around for Disk Copy to decide whether it wants to work or not.

Trade ware is such a cool idea.
