Afloat

One couple manage to find a patch of open water in Inokashira Park.

It was my birthday on Sunday (let’s just say I turned thirty-something and leave it at that) so I spent the weekend away from the computer for the most part. Apologies if I haven’t been paying attention around here but, well, I haven’t been paying attention.

Happy Birthday dude!

We share the same b-day. I turned 21, receiving a plant. You know you’re getting old when that pleases you.

linking the two parts of your post together: did you and your loved ones go out for a boat trip to celebrate your thirty-something?

my girlfriend was told by the doctor today that her hand does not appear to be broken after all, so they removed the cast and instead of 6 weeks of surviving with a disabled right hand, she can now again do whatever she likes. (or, doesn’t like, like doing my dishes)

Eric, Gomichild —- Thank you! I would have invited you to my party except I didn’t have one. (But if I ever do, believe me, you’ll be invited.)

Will —- Bloody hell! Since when is 21 old, you whippersnapper, you? Anyway, many happy returns (I’d say you’ve got more coming than I have ;-)

Kris —- We didn’t go boating. As a matter of fact, the two parts aren’t related at all. I just thought it was a funny photo and I didn;t want to make a pathetic birthday excuse for avoiding computers without some sort of ‘cover.’

Glad you’re friend’s hand is OK. What were the doctors thinking?

So the boats were coincidental. But was the starchart?

Happy Birthday, Jeremy. Best wishes for however long you have left in the thirty-somethings (and beyond, of course). My impression of the thirties (having made it halfway through) is that it’s a time of life perfectly suited for not making a distinction between the individual years of the decade. As far as I can tell, once a man hits 40 there’s no more of that hazy grouping — age becomes precise again. Not that that’s a bad thing, really.

Cheers.

happy birthday, jeremy.

hapy birthday jeremy.

I turn 33 in a few weeks. not sure why we put so much stock in age.

my parents asked me when my partner of 4 years birthday is, and when I told them same month as me, only 5 years earlier my mum was aghast. she told me if I had mentioned this when we first starting seing each other, she would have automatically written him off as immature.

but having met him, she thought he was the same age as me.

aren’t parents funny? aren’t agesit preconceptions funny?

aren’t I rambling?

I was told once that it was bad luck for couples for go boating in Inokashira Park. Happy Birthday, Jeremy!

Happiest of birthdays Jeremy! Have something alcaholic on me…or at least pretend it’s on me.

“Glad you’re friend’s hand is OK. What were the doctors thinking?”

That a bone in the wrist was broken, but they weren’t sure. They could not see much in the x-rays, but they were rather safe than sorry.

I asked her to make a “V” sign next time they make x-rays of her hand. :)

Thanks, everyone —- and don’t worry: my vows to the fellowship of the grape were well and truly renewed.

qB —-

No, it really was the equinox. Ask anyone! (Besides, I didn’t drink enough to affect planetary alignment.)

Erik —- Happy very-same-birthday! As an Aries two days from Pisces, are you as conflicted and schizo as I am?

And Ash, happy near-birthday.

Natalie —- I bet you have the same birthday as either my wife (April 20) or my brother (April 21). Am I right?
