Killer View of Fuji

In 1984 Miguel Arboleda (Laughing~Knees) took an astonishing photograph of Fuji. This is a once-in-a-lifetime view, and a kick-ass first post to a blog to boot (not counting the Eureka post, of course).

Thanks for the kind words! It’s still one of my favorite photographs, though I hope to regularly post a lot more (haven’t quite got the posting method down yet… still want to create a much nicer border and add a gallery page).
I’ve climbed that same mountain four more times since the photograph was taken, always hopiing for another good shot. While the views were nice on two occasions, it was never again anything quite like this shot.
Perhaps more than anything such moments remind you how important it is to get out and see the world for yourself. You never know what you’ll encounter.
Here are two photographers whose work inspires me: Charlie Waite and Joe Cornish
And here is Japanese photographer whose photo gallery and wallpapers can give you an idea of what the mountains in Japan are like. Some nice work: Yoshihiro Kondo
