Recent manufacture but rather old design, unoiled, made from two pieces of boxwood (黄楊 – tsuge). This is the everyday-use comb for the women of the house.

How big is it? Can't really get a feel for the size, if you know what I mean.

I've been using wooden combs for awhile - I get them from The Body Shop. Occasionally the cats steal them for some reason. Maybe for the same reason that I like them - they feel good. After seeing these fine combs I think I'll try oiling one of them. They do take on some body oil of course after use but I think a light oil would make them beautiful.
