Flip Flop on Milk Fats

I love dairy food and ate a lot in childhood but thought the thinking had come around to avoiding mucousy milk fats. We’re big on soy milk here. In yet another example of the possibility that we may not know anything at all about matters dietary (surely “everything in moderation” is all you need to know), there’s now research that suggests dairy fats may prevent asthma. (By the way, anyone see that story a few days ago of soy beans leading to brain shrinkage in old age?)

Dairy diet may prevent asthma
BBC

Young children who regularly eat products containing milk fat are less likely to develop asthma, research suggests.

Scientists say the finding provides strong evidence that while asthma may, in part, be a genetic condition, it is certainly influenced by lifestyle factors too.

Asthma triggers are highly environmental. Try rolling around on the floor of a dusty house.

This is why I never really believe medical studies… A while ago if you didn’t make your baby sleep on its stomach were you a horrible human being. Now, if you don’t put it on its back you are a horrible human being.

If all the stuff they say is true, it’s a miracle anyone lived to year 2,000. :)

Hah. Milk prevents asthma. Another scam from the dairy farmers associations. Milk is for baby animals - of the SAME species. Need calcium? Eat your veggies & legumes.

Yeah, and doubleknits cause cancer in rats. Or, as Believe It or Not Ripley once said, “Fire is a liquid.”

Dairy isn’t that bad, just the chemicals used in producing them that may have a negative effect.

If Milk is bad, why did God led His Chosen People to the Land teeming with milk and honey? I’m sure God knows best!

Did you know the countries(European and North American) that consume the most dairy products have the highest osteoporosis and fractures? The countries(Asian) that consume the least dairy have very little osteoporosis and fractures. I don’t believe a thing the dairy association says. Remember milk is to get a 60 pound calf to 600 pounds in 6 to 8 months. The dairy industry says you can loose weight eating 3 dairy a day.
