First International Moblogging Conference

I was quite looking forward to The First International Moblogging Conference but when Saturday arrived I simply couldn’t face the prospect of being indoors. I’d hunkered down in front of the machine for a solid week (more, really) and if I didn’t get outside and buzz around like a blue-arsed fly something bad would have happened. That a seminar my wife wanted to attend had been rescheduled to the same day (who was going pick up our daughter after her annual art class drawing excursion to the zoo?) helped to sway things. So I did just that, and biked and swam and took a big vitamin D hit from the sun (it was a perfectly clear and hot day clouding over the coolness in the evening). The next day we walked in the hills above Hakone Yumoto and went to a hot spring. It was mobile, just without the blogging.
So my apologies and congratulations to the the organisers for what I’m sure was a fab and historic event. It was curious that the blog page didn’t update throughout the day, but it turns out Gen Kanai single-handedly took care of things here. As Stuart said, “When you moblog, it can be antisocial, its hard to participate and blog at the same time.”
Maybe I would have felt like a bit of a phony there anyway on account of I don’t even own a mobile phone (I think I’ve mentioned this).

I came all the way from the uk to meet you as well! And you went sunbathing instead! What’s that about! :D
Seriously, shame we missed each other - I would have genuinely liked to have met you… Maybe next time?
Pete.

Oh no! I didn’t know I had to have a mobile to attend…
Don’t worry, I’m sure it will be covered in full at the next Tokyo bloggers meetup, and I know you won’t be sunbathing then.
