The Photographs of Nick Kilroy
Comments: 5
I like Nick Kilroy’s photographs because he has great compositional skill, a fine and sometimes quirky sense of colour, and — what? — an obvious affinity for the tenuous light of memory, let’s say (some of the shots have the patina of old Kodachrome — Hampstead, 2003 almost looks like a frame of Kodak’s Super 8 film, basically the same thing, the way it would wash out almost poignantly).
Leeds, 2003 is a just witty, sexy picture where neither quality detracts from the other.

London 1AM - I was in two minds deciding if I should fall asleep or go out and take pictures of the motorway, then I noticed this link….. [sound of door shutting]

Go get ‘em Nick. Sleep is for those with no artistic vision.

Did you know that nick runs other sites, one is low profile (with good reason) http://www.gabba.net/amp and the other is a record label - http://www.electrokin.com/ It’s all good

This is terrible news. I saw your comment a couple of days ago at work and felt sad enough that it threw me for a bit of a loop.
Nick and I only corresponded a few times, but it was immediately clear from his words and pictures that he was someone you would want to know, someone who would always be opening your eyes a little bit wider.
My condolences to his family. He’s going to be very much missed by a lot of people.
