Yesterday a friend introduced me to Buzzwhack.com, a site “dedicated to de-mystifying buzzwords,” where I immediately signed up for the buzzword-for-the-day mailing list.
As my friend ran through some of the old entries he’s received, this one caught my eye:
Trickle-down ergonomics — The practice of stealing (or being given) an Aeron chair, desk, computer or workplace tools after you’ve been laid off.
No attribution was given so I don’t know who came up with it, but it had me shaking my head with envy.

Good stuff :) I remember seeing this description of Trickle-down ergonomics in a recent edition of Wired magazine.

It’s from (I first heard it in) an MC Paul Barman song. Barman is a white, Jewish, Brown University-educated rapper who raps about politics, sex, and just about anything.
The phrase itself is from the song “Bleeding Brain Grow” which, in addition to having two impressively long palindrome rhymes, is on Barman’s first full length album “Paullelujah.”

Ah yes, MC Paul Barman, writer and performer of the genious track, “Cock Mobster.” He’s the Woody Allen of the rap world.
