A More Dangerousmeta

Wow — take a look at the new dangerousmeta, a whole new package with added Movable Type goodness. That’s a nice-looking page.
Bravo, Garret. I’m liking!

I finally had time to say ‘thanks, sir.’ But it’s just a mod of the default CSS. I find I’m missing the right hand navigation scheme. I realized today I didn’t need the permalinks hanging off the title, because I’m not using the page/anchor permalink scenario anymore! But the permalink/comment/trackback lines are visually distracting, to me. Yet, having the timestamp out in the open, rather than hidden in a rollover of the permalink, makes me realize how much time I’ve wasted weblogging (good thing for my business, bad thing for fans). Net-net, I’ve got a lot of thinking to do, about streamlining the layout and function for my tastes and style of posting. Consider this a ‘rough sketch’ in the general direction I want to go.
Field any design, with CSS, and the critics come out of the woodwork. But one had a significantly better idea about inlining my titles, using H tags, rather than my SPAN kludge. I may wait and save that for the next iteration of the CSS. Unless I can find where in the blasted PERL the MT folks hid those auto-generated P tags!
But I do like the top graphic, and I have a fun idea for how I’ll leverage it for my renewed photo galleries. Since purchasing the Canon G5, and picking up a copy of BreezeBrowser, one can customize the templates for the BB auto-HTML generator. Hopefully it’ll be like having a more easily customizable SnapGallery.
A new design is a challenge, but it’s always a breath of fresh air.
