Back in June when the hydrangeas were out we hiked up to Aikousan Amida-dera (above Hakone) in the rain. Here’s the approach to the temple.

I love how a little bit of rain can bring out the green in vegetation. After several days of rain here lately - following a two month period of no rain whatsoever - the plants and trees are practically sparkling.

Jeff, you’re up in Dallas aren’t you? Yeah, down here in Austin it’s been wonderful, too. The temperatures are down in the low 90s—it feels like fall.
Jeremy, you have a knack for posting photos that make me wish I was there…although this week it’s been pretty nice here.

Fort Worth, actually. It’s all the same mess of urbanity, though.
I’ve definitely been more cheery thanks to the (slightly) cooler and wetter weather. Summer always leaves me feeling drained both physically and mentally, so any hint of Fall is a welcome pick-me-up. Too bad we still have a month or two to go…
