Ten Thousand Dune Buggies

My favourite Neil Young album, On the Beach, is finally being released on CD. I have a vinyl copy in Australia but no recording of it here (no turntable!).
Play it again, Neil - finally
Mark Mordue, Sydney Morning HeraldNo fanfare, he just threw it out there. This still rates as big news in the music industry after years of petitioning and lobbying from devoted websites, as well as ongoing speculation as to why he hasn’t let it appear since its vinyl incarnation in 1974.

Sorry for a comment that deals with nothing in the post. I just had to drop in and tell you how much I really enjoy your aesthetic eye. I pop in here a lot of times just to see the place. Well done, indeed!

thought i was the only one to really appreciate this album…glad to know there are others out there who appreciate this fine piece of work. i was 23 when i found this album in a record store in san luis obispo. already a neil young fan, i thought ‘wow, this looks cool’. i was living on a cattle ranch at the time and took the record home with a six pack to give it a listen.
my appreciation for neil young grew by leaps and bounds that day…much like it did last week when i purchased Greendale…if you don’t have that album…get it now.

Now, now —- have some respect for the elders. ;-)

I’m not even a big Young fan at all (he’s one of those artists I respect more than I actually listen to), but for some reason that album really found a place. Heard it at the right time, I guess (also in my early 20s). Haven’t heard anything from Greendale yet but will definitely do so.

P.S. Carey Henderson —- Thanks!

Living in Canada for 20 years, I’ve heard quite enough Neil Young, thank you. He does deserve respect, though. I mean, he made millions with that voice? I mean he must be a genius!
