BBEdit Version Control
Comments: 2
John Gruber has written a neat introduction to version control with BBEdit and CVS for MacWorld.
CVS originated on Unix, and like most Unix software, it runs perfectly on OS X. There’s just one downside: until recently, the only way to access CVS was through OS X’s Terminal application – not an enticing prospect for most Mac users. But now Bare Bones Software has simplified the process by building support for CVS into the latest version of its text editor, BBEdit 7.0.
You have a copy of BBEdit, right? Of course you do: how could you live without it?

While tools within BBEdit's interface are nice, nothing beats CVL with the free Apple Developer tools.
CVL has the most straightforward and well-designed front-end I have ever seen in a CVS application (the one minus being branches, which WinCVS does very nicely). And one you've used it in conjunction with Apple's FileMerge, you'll never want to use another diff tool again.
My god, how geeky did that just sound!

Of course…it was a birthday present from the Mancunian.
