Somewhat Infinite

Eric Barzeski made me laugh out loud three times with this post on Dell and its crappy Apple rip-offs. “I’m still trying to figure out what ‘somewhat limitless’ means.” Ha!
Steven Frank had a similar reaction.

well, though i’m not a dell fan, at least they’re releasing a pretty slick handheld. we all remember what happened last time apple tried to enter the palm market…

Ever since Dell became the #1 computer vendor, its products started sucking. It’s sad, really. I bought a Dell seven years ago when it was a relatively unknown company. Then Dell had great products with excellent tech support. Now its hardware looks like something Compaq would put out. Blech.
I still feel that Palm rules the handheld market and makes the best product. I have a Palm m515 and it’s awesome. These Windows based handhelds tend to be clunky, feature bloated, and battery juice hogs. Honestly, do you really need a 16-bit color screen to manage your calendar? I think not.

You know Rio and Creative made their MP3 player and HardDrive MP3 players before apple made the iPod. Apple is not allways first but Mac heads will claim that if anyone then follows suit then they are ripping off Apple.

Just follow the money, my friends. But speaking as a Mac-head: what the heck is this site? Can anyone tell me what this is all about? http://www.go-l.com/servers/servers/index.htm

I thought Palm was started by people who left Apple’s Newton division. “we all remember what happened last time apple tried to enter the palm market”? hehe - some remember better than others perhaps?
Also I think the comment about ripping off the iPod was more about Dell ripping off the iPod’s design - design being one thing that Apple is actually well known for (unlike market share, mainstream acceptance, viruses…) Personally it looks pretty obviously non-Apple to me.
While I think people raving about how great Macs are are kind of sad and pathetic, I find PC users’ indignant replies equally amusing (but we like ugly! ;-)

You don’t need an article to laugh at them. They are stupid and ugly on their own merit. :)
