New Scientist: “Hopes are fading that the British Beagle 2 probe landed safely on Mars on Christmas morning, as the lander has missed its second opportunity to make contact.”
The BBC: “If Beagle 2 is alive it will transmit at a frequency of 401.56 Mhz.”

Beagle rules! Imagine the silence on Mars in comparison to the hustle and bustle on Earth. Beagle is no longer interested in mankind. Mars seems to be cool. Greetings from Europe, M.

Here’s a rather telling quote from the “official Beagle 2 blog” regarding the Blur “theme song” used by the Beagle 2 mission:
“…Hearing of NASA’s plans, Blur bassist Alex James said “they will never get Damien Hirst to paint spots on their rocket”.”
Response: Well, maybe not. But at least NASA has managed to get its priorities straight. After all, mission success is job 1. Beats a pretty theme song any day. At least the Beagles still have their blog.
