Well-dressed women wearing wires are among the many intriguing sights to be seen in Shibuya.

I wonder what they are listening to.

I was in Shibuya last december and absolutely fell in love with it. It’s apparently a different experience from the rest of Tokyo (which I dint have the time to visit), but my stay there was quite eventful and colorful. Planning on visiting this summer again.

I would pay a sizeable amount of money just to see a real kimono woman with my own eyes, on the street, on a normal day. I am in love with Japan!

I remember some years ago, I was walking right in front of the Kabuki-za and saw a very elegant woman in kimono. In one hand, she was leading her daughter (in a puffy Western dress), in the other, she held a cellphone.

It was perfect.

Shibuya (and Harajuku) has became very crowded of the past years. I remember, the first time I went there, over 10 years ago, I could freely move and walk there, but now, people everywhere, big traffic jam, a one stop and go, stop and go..!

Dear Jeremy,

my husband is a photographer and has been following your blog for some time. Knowing my love for Japan he send me the link to the wonderful woman captured by your camera. I know now why he is so fond of your work. It is magical. Tks for sharing!

I met my Japanese partner on the Internet in early 2003. Since then I have visited Japan each time for a month and toured around. Each time I raised an Internet site and updated it with my diary and photographs on a daily basis - it was read by quite a few people in many parts of the world. I really enjoyed my experience, so last year my partner and I wrote a joint book called “In Love with Japan”. I much improved my diary and she then added an equal amount giving her view of the daily experience. The book is on Amazon including Amazon Japan with ISBN 0595417574, and extracts and photographs are on www.1bm.me.uk/books. There are two blog sites in Japanese about the books - I have been told the comments are very good but I can’t read Japanese! The book is selling well in the UK and US Mike
