Carp and sakura petals

carpSakuraPetals.jpg

The petals rain down in such numbers that, caught in a blizzard of them, strangers share a smile and a laugh. They fall on everyone equally, and on man and beast alike. I saw this carp in a pond as I was leaving a meeting yesterday.

Beautiful! I have been running around trying to find a nice picture of fallen sakura petals for the past few days with pretty poor results. That photo is insanely great.

When I said find a picture, I meant take a picture.

wonderful…reminds me of Escher’s “three worlds” http://www.worldofescher.com/gallery/A59.html … and the contrasting colours are exquisite.

Thank you for posting it.

I miss. I miss. I miss. My first sakura season in Tokyo closed with a most memorable afternoon afternoon stroll through Yoyogi-koen ten minutes following a spectacular downpour on the sixth day of the bloom-season.

The entire perimeter of the park was casually ablaze in in a diluted pink with the overcast 4pm sky.

My date at the time i think decided not to renew our romaince as I spent countless moments carefully snapping off as many photos as there were petals congesting my show tread.

By the way JH, you never cease to amaze me; the photo is a stunner—Elicits more emotion in me than i care to elaborate on more than I already have.

Stunning.

My jaw drops. This is stunning.

Thats a beauty! Unfortunately I’m in Hokkaido, and will be heading back to Honshu just in time to miss them here and to not even catch the end of them down there…

Anyway, sweet pic!

drolls NEED… LARGER… VERSION… Please, JH, can you upload a wall-paper sized copy of this one? This picture is beautiful, omedetou. ^o^/

Great picture!!!

This image won’t make good wallpaper - unless you have rotated your monitor 90 degrees! :-)

Otherwise, isn’t it time Antipixel started offering every new photo as wallpaper? The demand is definitely there!

Suggested sizes: 1600x1200, 1280x1024 and 1024x768. Other sizes? People can always resize the image to fit their screen.

I love all your photos, but I especially love this one. Snow petals falling is the most romantic time of the spring.

That is an incredible picture ……………. fair play !!

Posted by Amy   2004.04.11, 23:35

Admitedly, the photo is lovely. The words complete the image.

That is a blizzard I would enjoy. Thank you!

I’ll add my voice to the chorus of praise. Well done indeed!

I just got back from a trip to Aizu-wakamatsu in Fukushima, and we were about 5 days too early for the sakura there. It was too bad, as the local castle is surrounded by 1,000 sakura trees..

Just wonderful. A real gem for the ones living thousands of miles of any sakura tree.

Yup, signature AntiPixel. Another fine shot Jeremy.

I agree with the want for bigger versions too, I think I have said that last year and the year before…

Einsame Klasse !

Just returned from my Japan holiday, which I spent under lots of cherry trees, to my home in Germany, just in time to see that my own cherry tree in my front yard has started blossoming :-)

I would say this pic captures all things Japanese–this coming from a I am a Japan-born, Japanese-American. Incredible Picture.
