Shibuya River

A long time ago — before you were born, child — I used to work in an advertising agency located in a building right beside the Shibuya River. My office was on the first floor at the back of the building. Glass doors opened onto a balcony overlooking the river which, one rainy season, I saw go from its usual trickle to almost overflowing the concrete embankments in less than 3 minutes.

Once again I visit Antipixel and… my jaw drops.

This would make a brilliant album cover!

i’m watching for the wave coming up behind them… beautiful shot - makes me love black and white.

i realized, looking at the photo again, that it’s not b/w, is it? just very subtle hues.

And here it is. Couldn’t resist:

beth —- You’re right: it’s a full-colour photograph taken on a very overcast day. I did try a b&w conversion but found I got a better monochrome look just leaving it as it was!

Chris —- ;-) World tour coming up (I wish).

Same thing happened to the river outside my window last year. The water reached to within a foot of the bank. I was all packed up and ready to evacuate. Just then the rain stopped and the greatest adventure of my life shall forever remain a “what if”.

This picture really moves me with its hues and nuances…. love it.

This is great - at first glance i thought it was a still from Blade Runner!
