Thalassa! Thalassa!

I was dumbstruck tonight when I realised I couldn’t remember the last time I’d swum in salt water. The feeling turned to horror when I figured out it was a year ago … Shikine-jima. I’ve got to get to a beach soon or I will not be held responsible for my actions.
A year! That may be the longest time without the sea since I first entered it. What a sad record.

For me it’s easy to remember … 5 days.
You are welcome any weekend to make a run down to Zushi for a bit of beach and barbecue.

I can’t stand salt-water. It’s stings my eyes, I feel like it’s dirty, and then I have to do excessive rubbing and washing afterwards in order ont to smell like a fish.
Chroline-infested pool water is OK, but chroline stinks.
Now, if there were a place in the world with fresh water— perhaps a million bottles of Evian— then I’d be really happy.
Oh, I can still see some fraying here and there. (Firefox 0.9.3 WinXP)

I can’t even remember the last time I tried that… Perhaps it was 2001. I really need a vacation… {{sigh}}… Oh, I tried it at an ‘open-air’ bath in a harbour close to where I live, but that doesn’t count… I need a beach… {{ double sigh }}

ahhhhhhh ocean swimming. Funny - I was just thinking about the beach and ocean this morning on the way to work. It’s a solid three hours to ocean from here, probably more like four. Not un-doable but not an easy day trip. And so time goes by before I know it and then I wake up one morning wishing for the feeling of salt water.
