Contra contrails
Comments: 4
I may be changing my mind on contrails. Today’s astronomy picture of the day shows a hideous mess of pollution over the south-east United States while the commentary hints at just how dreadful these things might actually be.
Added later: Jamais Cascio, worldchanging.com — It’s tough when two worldchanging philosophies conflict.

There are a group of tinfoil hat folks who believe there is a sinister aspect to the phenomenon of contrails. Try a web search for “chemtrail.”
Personally, I think there may be some merit to their theories. Contrails that stick around for hours, regardless of weather conditions, are just suspicious.

Two things, one: I believe I read somewhere that someone had at last proven that contrails do in fact eventually become clouds under the right conditions. Something visible where I live hence two: I live near Norfolk, VA, largest military installation on Earth. I see contrails all the damn time. I think they launch the jets on clear days just to keep the ratio of white::blue consistent.

Erik, your link is absolutely devoid of substance:
The page is funny, largely because the people on it are so stupid, gullible, or fanatical that you just know you couldn’t win any argument against them with any amount of reason, logic, or proof. Ho hum. What was the point again?
If you had followed my link to Google’s search results, you would have found many sites from both the conspiracy theorists and the debunkers, with actual content. There was just no need for such baseless ridicule.
