Daruma are used for making wishes. You black in one eye with ink when you make the wish, and when the wish comes true, you colour in the other eye. I don’t know what it means when the paints cracks and starts to fall off: perhaps that all consequences of your wish have faded.

hi , i am an engineer and i served my apprenticeship with a family ran engineering firm , where the son studied his business studies in japan . When he finished he brang a DARUMA home with him to give the company good luck(they kept it in our main foyer), 10 months latert the firm went into receivership and closed down .

I have 2, the eyes pop out and they open up. 1 has a set of dice and the other has 2 of the 7 Gods inside. Am I lucky or what?
