Straw trees

strawTrees_kasumigaseki.jpg

In Australia it struck me that a lot of the vegetation is like something from Dr. Seuss; the long silvery limbs of certain eucalypts, the grass trees. Then I come back and see these trees wrapped in straw for the winter in Kasumigaseki today. Very Dr. Seussical indeed.

wow. I was just thinking that much of the frost on my windows this morning had a Dr. Seuss-like feel about them:

And I was afraid it was because I recently found my copy of "Six by Seuss"! but apparently not! Love those straw-wrapped trees - very cool and so carefully done.
