Drops of water on the office floor

The lobby of the office has a floor of brushed aluminium. A little water got spilled, and from above the drops looked like a chain of islands on the engraved plate of an old map of the Pacific. Given that the drops were distributed by forces of nature (gravity; surface tension; aerodynamics and the prevailing winds from the air-conditioner vents; perhaps, in the first place, a slight collision or sudden change of direction by the bearer of the cup from which they sloshed), it wasn’t hard to find a viewing angle from which a golden spiral could be glimpsed.

Fantastic. This is great. Fibonacci would be proud (or however you spell his name).

That’s terrific. I love the levels of contrast: giant/tiny, geological time/wiping-up water time, molten lava/cool water …
It’s even better that you would take the time to photograph it. Once in a math-type class my teacher made a perfect arc on the chalkboard when he was writing a ‘c.’ I was so close to stopping him and pointing-out how perfect it was, and that he couldn’t do it again if he had 1000 tries. But it was math, and such things are a bit right-brained.

Reminds me of the cover of Peter Gabriel’s Up.
