Because I’m sick and feeling pretty dopey I’m going to single out the most whimsical winning entry from the National Press Photographers Association Best of Photojournalism 2006 awards, and that would be Andrea Levy’s deliciously funny Hot Mama of Invention from the Conceptual Photographic Illustration category.

I did laugh out loud at the first one. But, I think maybe I would be more impressed by the second one if I didn’t know that you can do that with a computer program, which somehow cheapens it in my mind.

It’s amazing Jez - that first photo and ‘Fortunate Son’ have one thing in common at least… I’m sure we can all work out the inference. I think there was a joke about Malcolm & Tammy Fraser on the same theme…
