Nicely done. :-) I’ll be joining you next time my visa is up for renewal.

When I became a permanent resident I was thrilled that I wouldn’t have to renew my visa every three years, especially since the Tokyo immigration office was relocated to an offshore island in the middle of nowhere.
But then I realized that I still had to apply for a reentry permit on a regular basis!

What did you have to do? Is there a “pledge of allegiance” that you have to learn in Japan like America?

Japan is one place I’d love to visit. I have a friend from college who is from Japan. It sounds amazing.
