Gore Joins Apple’s Board
Comments: 12
It seems that Al Gore has joined Apple’s board of directors:
Apple today announced the latest addition to its Board of Directors – former Vice President of the United States, Al Gore (news - web sites). The company noted that Gore was elected in a meeting of the board today.
Watch out for earth-toned iMacs in stores early autumn.

I was just reading comments on slashdot about the story about Al Gore being named to Apple Board of Directors. I love this comment:
++++
I don’t get it. Where do people get their perspective these days?
George Bush kills something like 100 people while he is governor of Texas and trashes 50 years worth of international diplomacy to get a two-bit dictator, and Al Gore still gets shit on for that stupid internet remark.
How does Rush do it?

Well he did invent the internet.

This quote was taken our of context. He NEVER claimed that he invented the internet and that would have been obvious to anyone who saw the interview that day.

I know but it is a funny joke.
I voted for him and I would have voted for him again.

Oh, I’m so silly. I read the headline wrong. I thought it said, “Gore Joins, Apple Bored” Hey, so long as my iBook doesn’t gain 40 pounds and start downloading Tipper porn, I’m cool with it. Woz and Gore are two of my favorite #2 guys.

when one of the top member’s of bair’s cabinet resigned, in his eloquent speech before parliment, he said something to the effect of “if it wasnt for a hanging chad in Florida, we would not be faced with this terrible war”. i liked that.
by the way, stacey, yr site is wonderful. nice poetry. i am happy that you posted here in jeremy’s blog. antipixel is one of my favourite blogs.

Kirsten —- Thanks for posting that. How the hell does Rush do it?
Stacey —- LOL! Funniest pun I’ve read on the subject yet.

Actually, I think earthtone colors (not the typical pc beige, mind you) might be a stylish choice. A little matte celadon green or a taupe with tiny flecks of gold and brown to look like handmade paper might be a very nice fashion statement. Much better than the candy colors anyway.

Lauri —- I was being facetious when I posted that, but did start to think it could actually be a good idea. Your hand-made paper suggestion is great.
There’s a guy in Kyoto (I think) who does the most amazing Macintosh case modifications using traditional lacquering techniques. Here’s a JPEG showing a TiBook case mod. I’d love one with in black lacquer with red detailing (red like the inside of a miso soup bowl).

Hmm… These posts about hand made PCs remind me of the Sandbenders in William Gibson’s Idoru. Personally, I dream of a wabi-sabi computer…
