Shibuya O-mikoshi
Parading a portable shrine through Shibuya.
It seems you’re never far away from a festival in Japan. Walking through Shibuya on my way back from a meeting today I had to stop to let a mikoshi — portable shrine — pass. Gods first, I thought. After you!
About half an hour later, huge storm clouds as black as the ace of spades rolled in from the northeast and it began to rain.
Storm clouds well up over the Ginza Line as it disappears into the Tokyu Building.
