A blank stare

Friends in Australia sent my daughter this doll for Christmas. It has no face — you draw one on using supplied markers that wash off easily. It also comes with a set of stamps you can use to print on various eyes, noses, and mouths. There’s a wig that changes colour when you brush water on it.
Despite looking pretty damned creepy straight out of the box, it’s actually quite a bit of fun. Forget about the stamps and draw your own faces for some cubist laughs, or giver her animal faces instead. She looks cute with whiskers.

Rudolph Steiner schools do this, the kids make dolls without faces, then mentaly project the faces on to the blank space.
