Shadows on a whitewashed wall

Looking through photographs from last winter (in anticipation of this winter) I came across this. It didn’t seem good enough to post at the time, but it’s remarkable how less-than-impressive shots improve when you’re in an uninspired period.

Brilliant! I love the use of shadows in that photograph. It’s very relaxing.

A nice one ! And dont worry about the uninspired period, if you would be a music star you would just produce a best-of album and no-one would notice.

Less than impressive? I would like to see what is considered impressive in that case!

I guess if you want to, you could call this a nice example of the Japanese way of letting shadows give a dynimc life to ‘flat’ surfaces, as in the way shadows playing over the screens of a veranda bridges the ‘inner room’ and the ‘outer space’. Or you could just call it an accidental but beautiful shadow.. :) Any wich way it’s a very nice picture!

Thanks for the comments —- I wasn’t fishing, honest! I guess I wasn’t really happy with the crop, but nothing I tried quite worked. But I just find that low winter light irresistible.
